The Press Information Bureau of the Indian government has now a video section to cater to the needs of the mushrooming TV channels. I must say, a wise decision. How many times we have heard TV channels saying they are unable to send depute anybody because all their crews are elsewhere shooting, every time we organise an event or a press conference. So I guess it is making more sense just to record a video ourselves and send it to them. And even if the TV channels cannot put it on air, they might just as well put it on their websites.
So what videos can we provide? The obvious answer is of our events and press conferences. Apart from that, the social media press release template mentions about providing video links of brief product demos, sound bytes by various stakeholders, etc.
We might as well upload these video links at Google videos and Youtube if interesting, or use them for our own podcasting.
